You can toss it over and over in the hand, 'feather' fingers underneath, shake, tip & even spin. The sound is so satisfying and the 37 moving pins gently 'tickle' the fingers & hand. These are hand crafted, with each pin being individually mounted in the overall casing. Small enough for the pocket, its packed with stimming JOY. Not silent, so not great for meetings and the classroom but not so loud that its super annoying either. I would describe it as a soft tinkle, kind of like hail on metal, thus its name. The base and pins are incredibly smooth and leave no unwanted textures, residue or feeling on your hands unlike many knock off products you would find on other websites. I personally hate the smell of metal and I was hesitant to play with this fidget, however it doesn't leave even a trace of metal smells on my hands. It is the perfect fidget for some soft sensory input, you can sit there almost mindlessly playing with it! Just be aware when buying this fidget is that it is not a silent fidget it does make a noise, which is meant to represent rain, I personally find this very calming and relaxing!
